About Bid4Apt
Where you set your rent.
Bid4Apt is a rental marketplace with a twist. Landlords post rental units for rent, and can choose to put a listing up for a rent auction. Renters browse and search listings just as they would on any rental site — and on auction listings, they bid the monthly rent they are willing to pay after accepting the landlord’s lease terms.
We built Bid4Apt around a few simple ideas:
- Transparency. Lease terms — pets, smoking, credit, background checks, lease length and deposit — are shown up front, before anyone bids.
- Control for landlords. Landlords set the starting rent, a hidden reserve, bid increments, the schedule and an optional rent-it-now price.
- A fair shot for renters. Everyone sees the same high bid and the same clock, and bids are validated by the same rules.
- Community. Messaging connects renters and landlords directly, and the forum is a place to share tips.
